What is the command to check the version number of YugaByte DB in use?

You can pass the --version flag to the yb-master or the yb-tserver binary.
For example, I get the following on my mac for the 1.2.2.0 version:
$ yugabyte-1.2.2.0/bin/yb-tserver --version
version 1.2.2.0 build 2 revision 91b8a670728f0ec551ef494960aedc068c43abb5 build_type RELEASE built at 26 Mar 2019 11:17:57 PST
