Yb-controller-server file not found in paths

Hi,

I’m new to yugabyte and trying to install V2.25 preview version first time on RHEL8. When I try to start the master node, I encounter below error
Yugabyte yb-controller-server file not found in paths [‘/data/yugabyte-2.25.1.0/ybc/bin’]. Please check the paths.

The “ybc” directory does not exists in the binaries untar. Not sure if I’m missing any installation step here ? any pointer would be helpful.

Please paste the full command that you ran?

Assuming it was yugabyted start --backup-daemon=true, please see this section yugabyted reference | YugabyteDB Docs.

You have to download YBC and extract it in the directory (in the future this will be included with yugabytedb).

Thank you for the prompt response. thats correct, I was using --backup-daemon=true. once I downloaded the YBC separately, it was working fine.
