# Is Yugabyte compatible with Gorse?

hi they use postgre under the hood

is yugabyte compatible with it too ?

Hi @kokoskiwi

It should work as a `data_store`.

Make sure to set [yb-tserver configuration reference | YugabyteDB Docs](https://docs.yugabyte.com/stable/reference/configuration/yb-tserver/#yb-use-hash-splitting-by-default) to False so it has higher compatibility on table sharding.
