# 2-region YugabyteDB cluster

Hi,

Just to be sure, is it possible to deploy a 2-region YugabyteDB cluster on 2 Kubernetes clusters, each deployed in a different region? Instead of 3 as mentioned here [Deploy | YugabyteDB Docs](https://docs.yugabyte.com/latest/deploy/kubernetes/multi-cluster/)

Please read the [checklist](https://docs.yugabyte.com/latest/deploy/checklist/#replication) to understand how replication & failover works.  
The problem with 2-region is you can’t guarantee high availability when a single region fails.

Thanks for clarification. For me it was not clear that this also applies for multiple clusters as each cluster fulfills the requirements.
